Introduction
Colored Brain Communicaiton cards are a Directive Communication tool that enhances lateral thinking and improves communication between individuals and departments in a workplace setting.
The following short article contributed by DC practitioner, Nick Ng of Train Ability Sdn Bhd, Malaysia points up another interesting use for the cards.
Here is something else we can use CBC cards for. So far, we have not used CBC cards in our World of Work maps. The World of Work got us to label our emotional drivers at each area of work. It was a rather dull exercise.
To make it more interesting than just writing down words like challenge/growth, love/belonging and other cliché terms, it will be better to use the full deck of CBC cards to describe our emotional drivers.
The rules of the game might be that each card can only be used once. For example, if the card of baseball players giving high fives is used to describe Social Jungle, it cannot be used again in Team Mountain . Or is the card of the trash bin is used to describe Meeting Land , it cannot be used again in Solo Caves . The CBC cards help to describe each emotional driver pictorially and offers a more complex way to examine our emotional drivers.
You do not have to use all the cards if you do not want to. There are 10 areas and 49 cards. Some areas will have four or five cards (or maybe more). Some will have maybe only one or two that define and stimulate our understanding of our various drivers..
