Edgar K. Tham, PhD, MA, MSc, RH, CSC, Reg. Psychologist (S'pore) is the Founder and Coaching Director of THE CENTRE FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE (CPP) -- a high-performance consulting company dedicated to helping people excel in any achievement-oriented domain. He is Singapore’s pioneer Peak Performance Psychologist who specializes in the psychology of performance excellence. He has coached the nation’s top elite athletes, S-League professional soccer players, military personnel, business executives and students to achieve high performance levels under pressure situations. He was the team consultant psychologist to numerous national teams preparing for the SEA Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games, Paralympic Games and World Championships since 1993. Based on his consulting experience with the peak performers from various achievement-oriented fields, he has developed the world’s first state-of-the-art performance enhancement coaching process called the Peak Performance System(sm). Edgar is the Honorary Consultant to Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) and the Singapore Sailing Federation. He is the author of “In The Zone” and co-author of “The Ideal Performance State.” He specializes in the use of sports as a metaphor for peak performance at the workplace, and this has led him to do training for many groups outside of sport, e.g., Digital Equipment, Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore, Singapore General Hospital, Ministry of Defense, National Library Board, National Community Leadership Institute, Ministry of Education, amongst many others. Edgar is also on the teaching faculty of Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and the Singapore Sports Council’s National Coaching Accreditation Programme. He is often featured in the media for his expertise in performance and sport psychology. He is listed in the International Who's Who of Professionals (2000) for his specialized work in peak performance psychology. A Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Edgar is also a professional member of the Singapore Psychological Society, Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology, and the National Association for Sports Counseling (USA).
